The garter stitch placket is left in place halfway down the sweater to leave a large opening which makes it easy to slip on the doll feet first. The sweater is knit top down, first flat then joined in the round and has no seaming. The finished measurements are 5" wide along bottom, 4.5" across chest and 5" sleeve. This pullover sweater fits the 16" Make-Along doll. And I really enjoy challenging myself to make something more complicated than I would attempt in human-size, like a sweater covered in bobbles! I love knitting for dolls for a lot of the same reasons I love sewing for them, very little materials needed, dolls aren't that particular about fit, and of course tiny stuff is adorable.
